The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances. His focus is on mopping robots and vacuum combinations. These multitaskers are an excellent option for those who wish to cross mopping off the to-do list. They feature impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and some wash and refill their own mopping pads to give themselves a hands-off clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model to pick if you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than the other models on this list, making it easier to navigate in tight corners and under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers some of my favorite navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh which can last up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery midway through an efficient.

It's fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and the hardwood floors in the living room, and hallways in one go. Its 8,000pa suction motor is quick at picking up dirt, crumbs and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets, and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high speed and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scrubbing up dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms protrude out slightly more than other robots, which is useful to get into tight corners and on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to clean up larger debris, like broken toys and fallen books.

Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've tried. It doesn't create as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to install and performs well. However should you purchase this robot vacuum to mop you must pay attention to this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a range of features.

The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house, detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and effectively. This will ensure an efficient and consistent cleaning and is also quick.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach an array of surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach areas. They also have a stretchy side brush that can be extended to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be cleaned and dried to prevent build-up and reduce odors.

App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the intensity of its suction, and choose between a back-and-forth or slightly more randomized pattern. You can also alter the number of passes it should make, which will affect how fast the device will traverse your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.

This device has a fairly expensive price tag, but it is packed with a wide array of innovative features. It is important to remember that the device will incur regular expenses, such as mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For instance the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad needs to be replaced every one to three months.

The robot vacuum mop is a top Amazon rating and includes many physical automation features. It has an energy button that serves as a general "Clean button, as well as a 'Home button that sends it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning session. It also comes with a multifunctional dock which automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home neat without spending too much time doing chores. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation and long battery life make it easy to keep a clean home with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop that is, it can do both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two modules which include a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module that has an elastomer pad. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may seem a bit old-fashioned however, they mean you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.

Our test participants discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its best feature is its precise floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option to set "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers, which help to protect certain areas of your house from being swept with a mop.

The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of picking up pet hair. It was able to capture a large amount of hair that shed by our cats and even was able to get into the nooks and crevices of our stairs while other robots struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low, and there were some lovely jingles that signal that it was beginning and finishing its work.

Its biggest drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the necessity to change between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The app is not able to keep multiple maps. This can be an issue if your house has several floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who are looking for a smart device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. However, it does have certain unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its huge dock, which doubles as the robot's charging base and the housing for two water tanks, a sink for cleaning as well as the 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically eliminates.

The base comes with several control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to toggle the child lock which is a great feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to identify obstacles and furniture in its path. It will stay clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally become so entangled with obstacles, like a power cord draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and stops working until you remove it manually. This was a rare occurrence, but frustrating nonetheless, since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert on its app.

Another potential downside is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You will need to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't a big deal except for the fact that the mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.

On the bright side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad. It's a big contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing view in a market which is dominated by clunky boxy models.
